Governing Bodies of IU-RESCAT
Executive Board
- The director coordinates the day to day management of IU-RESCAT and represents the Institution externally.
- The Institute Council, at the proposal of the director, may appoint one or more deputy directors, whose mandate will be the same lenght as that of the director, and who assists the director in their duties.
- The Institute Council, at the proposal of the director, will appoint at secretary from among the Institute’s full-time teaching and research staff. The secretary is responsible for ensuring public trust in the Institute, writing up and recording the Institute’s activities and for all other secretarial functions.
Permanent Committee
The Permanent Committee is the body responsible for the daily management of IU-RESCAT.
The Permanent Committee is made up of:
a) The director, who presides over it
b) The secretary
c) The deputy director
d) A coordinator or a person responsible for the teaching programs attached to or dependent on the Institute, if any.
e) A representative of each of the research groups or centres that have members who work full-time with IU-RESCAT
f) A person representing the trainee researchers
g) A person representing the doctoral students, if any
h) A person representing the administration and services staff assigned to the Institute
Institute Council
The Institute Council is the governing body of IU-RESCAT.
The Institute Council is made up of:
a) The director, who presides over it.
b) The secretary.
c) The deputy director/s.
d) All full-time teaching and research.
e) Representatives of the teaching and research staff, elected by the staff themselves, with a minimum of one representative for each six staff members or fraction thereof.
f) A maximum of three representatives of the external research staff affiliated to the Institute, appointed by the director of the Institute.
g) Representatives of the postgraduate and doctoral students who are studying courses in which the Institute participates, equivalent to 10% of the total Council members, elected by and from among the students.
h) Representatives of the administration and services staff assigned to the Institute, elected by and from among the members of this group, up to a maximum of 10% of the Council members. If the administration and services staff do not reach this number, they will all automatically become members of the Council.
IU-RESCAT working committees
Training, Visibility and Image Committee
The main objectives of the IU-RESCAT's Training, Visibility and Image Committee are to ensure that objectives 3 and 5 of the Strategic Plan are achieved.
Transfer Committee
The objective of the Transfer Committee is to turn IU-RESCAT into a leading national and international centre in the provision of scientific advice and the transfer of knowledge in the areas that it operates in, and to ensure that objective 2 of the Strategic Plan is achieved.
